Tuesday April 3rd

Awake at 7 surprisingly so off on a tour of the ship I went in the comfort of the warm sunrise behind the ship as we sailed westward into Falmouth Jamaica.
So unusually quiet in the morning with almost no one up and about. Stopped at the Promenade cafe for a steamed milk and caramel. Went from deck to deck taking photos and visiting people from every state imaginable. Breakfast was being served in the Windjammer so had to walk up to the BACON STATION AND HAVE A SLICE - I mean- just because right?
Took a lot of photos deck to deck to catch some of the serenity before the masses engulf the place by lunchtime. I'm positive Krista and the boys are greatly enjoying their first sleep in of the week as we have made them get up early every day to do something or other.
Pulling into the port was quite fascinating as we got to see all the numerous resorts on the beachfront. The water had barely a ripple on it in the bay for the last hour of arrival. I sat in a mini cabana in the Solarium which was incredibly relaxing. There has been a few times when we have been at different resorts around the world where we got to watch cruise ships coming to port and how fascinating that was.   Now we get a chance to be on the cruise ship that comes in to port.  We have watched the Harmony on videos but it would sure be nice to be on the shore watching this massive ship come into port.
The ship turned back into the ocean and threw it in reverse and backed right into the dock. It was pretty slick how they drove right up to the dock with such a massive ship.
We woke the boys at 9 and somehow managed to coerce them to breakfast by 930 at the Windjammer. We headed back to our rooms and backed our daybag and off the ship we went.
Port Falmouth was very lovely as you can imagine as tourism is vital to help these areas. Diamond and specialty jewelry stores were everywhere but also numerous touristy places with clothing and trinkets of every kind imaginable. We ended up purchasing a nice dressy colored blue shirt with coconut buttons and a tank top for the boys and I. Krista bought a nice pullover top also. The boys bought a couple gifts for friends and a mini football. Nicholas got a wallet also.
We ended up in a store that was offering samples of Irish creams in 10 flavours in 1-2 oz samples over and over and over. We could have been there all afternoon but settled on the Coconut cream and headed back to the ship with our wares.
We replenished our beverages and hit the poolside as it was a scorching 35 degrees with almost no breeze to speak of.
We paddled in the pool off and on and put a good dent in our novels also.
The boys spent the day either in the pool or at the Waverider surfing machine. Nicholas was getting quite good at it and really enjoyed it. Jacob took full advantage of every sport offered and came home with the Gold medal in the soccer shootout competition! Well done Jacob!!
After a good three hours and a nice starter burn, it was time for a shower to cool off. We spent a bit of down time in our room and then showered and headed out to tour the ship before supper.
We were disappointed that we didn't get to try any Jamaican food off the ship. We headed to the Windjammer cafe and were able to find some Jerk chicken and pork as well as some ox tail - a savoury type of meal much like a braised beef shank in tangy tomato sauce. We had a few nibbles but didn't want to spoil our appetite as we headed out at 730 to an upscale Mexican restaurant for all you can eat. We had two types of guacamole and chips followed by tortilla soup, shrimp tacos and steak quesadillas. We had a coconut flan for dessert and could barely walk out of the place.
We did some shopping and then headed to the casino to the penny slots where we each spent a whopping 2-5 dollars but to no real success.
The adults and Adam went to a comedy show for an hour. The first comic talked about the differences between men and women as well as married vs single life and had some great material. A particularly humorous part included the mocking of two 20 year olds from Michigan who came to be nannies for a fairly rich lady who was in her room watching the child so they could come out to the show. It was all in good natured fun but really funny.
The second comedian came out with a lot more vigor and really mocked a few folks especially thosei n the front. There was some really good stuff and we even got a bit of mocking about being from Canada but all in good fun.
Midnight approached and we stopped by the Royal Theatre to watch a dating game for a while but made our way soon after to bed after an extremely full day.
